Caerphilly Council NO2 programme – extension request

The Deputy Minister for Climate Change has agreed a 12 month extension request from Caerphilly County Borough to deliver their clean air scheme to tackle high nitrogen dioxide concentrations on Hafodyrynys. The scheme requires the acquisition and demolition of 23 properties at Woodside Terrace, and was identified as the quickest route to compliance with legal limits. Due to a number of delays, Caerphilly County Borough Council requested an extension to December 2022.
