The Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs has agreed to an extension of the duration and remit of the air quality independent review panel and funding of £47,500 to support reasonable costs of the panel for their time and expenses for the period April 2019 – March 2021,  agreed an increase of £1,122,046 to Caerphilly County Borough Council’s existing revenue grant award in 2019 -2020 to support in full the costs of their extended feasibility study to identify measures to achieve compliance with nitrogen dioxide limit values. The Minister has also agreed to the recommended at a cost of £2,822,764 (excluding well-being top-up) for the period April 2019 – March 2022 with the potential to increase, later, to a maximum of £3,090,764.  Finally the Minister has agreed a new capital and revenue funding award of £6,101,192 (implementation grant) to support Caerphilly County Borough Council with the full costs of their agreed measure to achieve legal compliance over the funding period August 2019 – March 2022.
