Dan has 30 years’ experience in the fire and rescue service, including:
- Chief Fire Officer of Merseyside Fire and Rescue Authority
- Chief Officer and Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade (Australia)
He works with the Welsh Ministers and officials on the following issues related to the 3 Fire and Rescue Authorities in Wales:
- operational preparedness
- performance
- structure and organisation
He is also legally responsible for inspecting fire safety in all non-military Crown premises in Wales.
