We want your views on proposals to revise and consolidate the school governance regulatory framework in Wales.
Consultation description
We are consulting on proposals to revise the legislative framework for school governance, to place a stronger focus on skilled governing bodies. This includes giving governing bodies the flexibility to make their own decisions about their constitution and membership to meet the particular needs of their schools.
Our proposals will:
- revise the school governance and staffing regulatory framework
- simplify the legislative framework by ensuring that there is a consistent approach to school governance in all maintained schools in Wales.
