Communities for Work Plus (CfW+) is a Welsh Government community-based employability programme. It is run in partnership with local authorities.

The programme is delivered through employability mentors based in community venues across Wales. They provide advice and guidance to help people:

  • build their confidence and skills
  • overcome barriers to employment,
  • improve their financial situation through employment

CfW+ focuses on people aged 20 and over who are not employed and face disadvantages in the job market.

This includes:

  • disabled people
  • Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities
  • young people aged 20 to 24 years old not in employment, education or training
  • young people aged 16 to 19 years old (eligible on a case-by-case basis if they are not suitable for any other provision)
  • individuals over 50 years of age
  • people with low/no skills
  • women (especially lone parents)
  • carers and people with childcare responsibilities as a barrier to employment.

CfW+ provides both employment support and training. Local authority delivery partners arrange training based on individual and local need.
