Consultation description

We are consulting on proposals which include:

  • enhancing our air quality monitoring and assessment capabilities
  • proposals for a fit for purpose legislative and regulatory air quality management framework for Wales
  • increasing public awareness about air pollution and behavioural change communications to help everyone improve air quality and encourage others to do the same
  • promoting the shift from the private motor vehicle to active travel and public transport

Additional information

We will be holding 3 consultation events to enable stakeholders and members of the public to hear more about the Clean Air Plan for Wales: Healthy Air – Healthy Wales:

  • 12 February: Aberystwyth University, Medrus Suite, Aberystwyth
  • 25 February: Glyndwr University, Catrin Finch Centre, Wrexham  
  • 5 March: Welsh Government Offices, Cathays Park, Cardiff 

The events will run from 10:00 to 16:00. Speakers will provide an overview of the plan, alongside the benefits to health and the environment. There will be four themed workshop discussions, giving attendees the opportunity to discuss and provide feedback on theme actions. 

The themes are:

  • improving air quality to protect the health and well-being of current and future generations
  • improving air quality to support our natural environment, ecosystems and biodiversity
  • improving air quality to support a prosperous Wales, and
  • improving air quality to support sustainable places
