Item 1: Minutes of the previous meeting

1.1 Cymeradwyodd y Cabinet gofnodion y 1 Gorffennaf / Cabinet approved the minutes of 1 July.  

Item 2: First Minister’s Items

Meeting with the Prime Minister 

2.1 The First Minister reflected on his meeting with the Prime Minister, which had taken place earlier that afternoon.  The focus of the discussion had been on the future of the Port Talbot Steel works, the impact on the wider economy and the need to improve inter-governmental relations.

2.2 After that meeting, the First Minister had also held a bilateral with the Secretary of State for Wales. 

Tata Steel 

2.3 Cabinet noted the new Secretary of State for Business and Trade and President of the Board of Trade was continuing to have discussions with the management of Tata Steel.

Royal Visit 

2.4 It was noted the King and Queen would be visiting the Senedd on Thursday to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of devolution in Wales. 

Item 3: Senedd Business

3.1 Cabinet considered the Plenary grid and noted that timing for stage 3 of the Local Government Finance (Wales) Bill, planned for Tuesday, had been reduced to two hours. Regular voting time was scheduled for 4:15pm on Tuesday, prior to the stage three debate, and would be around 5:55pm on Wednesday.
