Item 1: Introduction and minutes of previous meeting
1.1 Cymeradwyodd y Cabinet gofnodion y 30 Medi / Cabinet approved the minutes of 30 September.
Item 2: First Minister's items
Visits to North Wales
2.1 The First Minister reflected on her recent visits to North Wales. The First Minister, along with the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales, had visited Kellanova's Wrexham cereal factory the previous Thursday for the announcement that it would create 130 new skilled jobs and reduce emissions. Later that day the First Minister, along with the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care, had opened the North Wales Medical School in Bangor.
Council of the Nations and Regions
2.2 The First Minister informed Cabinet that she would be attending the first Council of the Nations and Regions on Friday of that week, which would be chaired by the Prime Minister.
UK Investment Summit
2.3 The following Monday, the First Minister would be attending the International Investment Summit in London. It would be chaired by the Prime Minister, with the Chancellor of the Exchequer in attendance. To accommodate this, the next Cabinet meeting would be moved to Tuesday 15th October.
Anniversary of the 7th October attacks
2.4 The First Minister informed Cabinet that she would be issuing a Written Statement later that afternoon to mark the first anniversary of the appalling attack by Hamas on Israel, and the ongoing conflict impacting civilians across the Middle East.
Item 3: Senedd business
3.1 Cabinet considered the Plenary grid and noted there were no votes scheduled for Tuesday and voting time would be around 6.25pm on Wednesday.
Item 4: Any other business
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service
4.1 The Cabinet Secretary for Housing and Local Government informed Cabinet that she would be issuing a Written Statement the following day to coincide with the publication of a report from the Chief Fire and Rescue Advisor and Inspector for Wales, about the effectiveness with which the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service fought dwelling fires. Technical briefings would also be provided where appropriate in order to support informed discussion.
