Building materials – employment success
A supplier on our building materials framework has been helping young people get training opportunities and employment through a Government scheme.
LBS Builders Merchants accessed the Government’s Kickstart Scheme earlier in 2021. The Kickstart Scheme helps employers, by providing funding for them to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds.
A representative from LBS Builders Merchants said:
“We are happy to confirm that the Government’s Kickstart scheme is proving to be a continued success for us here at LBS Builders Merchants.
At the time of writing, as a business we currently have 31 Kickstart trainees within our organisation; 12 of which have already been offered permanent positions throughout the business across South Wales. Needless to say that we have found this scheme to be very beneficial for us.
Our training department has done an excellent job working with all the trainees on the scheme, delivering on our commitment to helping young people find suitable employment in our industry.”
