The second in a series of reports evaluating the Basic Income for Care Leavers in Wales Pilot including; early experiences of young people involved in the pilot, contributions from the evaluation co-production group and initial analysis of how the pilot was implemented.

The Basic Income for Care Leavers in Wales Pilot was launched in August 2022.

This report is the second in a series of annual evaluation reports. The report includes findings that will be built on over the course of the evaluation until 2027.

The report aims to:

  • enable co-production partners to report directly on their experiences of working with the research study
  • provide early perspectives and experiences from young people receiving the basic income
  • describe the early phases of implementation of the pilot, including experiences, challenges, opportunities and learning
