This data provides information about general health and illness of adults living in Wales for April 2021 to March 2022.
This is not the latest release in the series: Adult general health and illness (National Survey for Wales)
Results should not be compared with years prior to 2020-21 (when telephone interviews replaced face-to-face interviews).
Main points
- 72% of adults reported good or very good general health.
- 46% of adults reported a longstanding illness.
- 33% of adults reported a limiting longstanding illness.
Adults in the most deprived areas were less likely to report good or very good general health than those in the least deprived areas, and more likely to report longstanding illness / limiting longstanding illness.
The proportion of adults reporting good or very good general health was lower than in 2020-21.
