Section 78 of the Government of Wales Act 2006 imposes a statutory requirement upon Welsh Ministers to adopt a Welsh language Strategy, and after each year, publish reports outlining how the proposals set out in the Strategy were implemented during that financial year.

Today, I have agreed to publish the annual report for 2013-14 in relation to the Welsh Language Strategy.  It serves as a clear demonstration of Welsh Government’s commitment to the Welsh language and our determination to see it thrive. The report highlights the key developments, successes and challenges in the implementation of our scheme during 2013-14. It also includes an appendix of performance indicator data corresponding to the indicators included in the Strategy.
