In accordance with Section 73 of the Government of Wales Act 2006, Welsh Ministers are required to make a scheme setting out how they propose, in the exercise of their functions to sustain and promote Local Government in Wales.  Welsh Ministers are required to publish a report of how the proposals set out in the scheme were implemented in the previous financial year and lay a copy of the report before the National Assembly for Wales.

I have laid the Annual Report for 2016-2017 before the National Assembly today. The report highlights the work which has been done during the previous financial year and is available at http://gov.wales/topics/localgovernment/partnership-with-local-government/lgps08/annual-reports/?lang=en.

This will be the final Annual Report based on the old Partnership Scheme which was published in 2008.

A new Partnership Scheme was adopted by the Local Government Partnership Council on 27 October 2017 and is available at http://gov.wales/topics/localgovernment/partnership-with-local-government/lgps08/?lang=en.
