I attended the Inter-Ministerial Group for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (IMG) on 9 September in London. The meeting was chaired by the new Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Theresa Villiers MP.

The meeting focussed on the various impacts of the continuing uncertainty about when and how the UK will leave the EU and in particular the effects of a catastrophic no deal exit. We also discussed the impacts of the prorogation of the UK Parliament on the legislative programme and funding arrangements to address no deal impacts and longer term support for farmers and fishers. We agreed the importance of continuing to work together on these and other EU Exit issues. .
