Zoe Curry Staff Elected Member
Zoe joined the Welsh Revenue Authority (WRA) as one of the first Digital Apprentices in 2019. She was promoted to Junior Software Developer on successful completion of her apprenticeship.
Before this, Zoe studied photography at the University of Gloucestershire. Since joining the WRA, she’s been studying for a computer science degree, writing her final year dissertation on web accessibility.
Zoe is responsible for developing the Land Transaction Tax calculator. It’s used by thousands of customers every month. She’s also developed a tax rate checker and a multiple dwellings relief calculator for the WRA.
Zoe is passionate about secure coding and competed in the ‘4 Nations Secure Code Warrior Tournament' in October 2022. She was one of the top competitors from Wales, and was then invited to compete in the national final where she placed 3rd in the UK.
In October 2023, Zoe was nominated by her colleagues to be the staff elected member of the WRA board. It’s Zoe’s first role as a board member. She’s looking forward to having a voice in strategic decisions to help shape the WRA as it evolves.
