Get involved in a battle of the beats and rhymes on Welsh Language Music Day

Your primary school could win £250 and appear on S4C’s Stwnsh Sadwrn on Saturday 6th February

What the Welsh language means to you and your area

All you need to do is write and record a bilingual rap (using as much Welsh as you can) on the theme ‘What the Welsh language means to you and your area’.  You can find some beats to get you started below.

Teachers and parents

You can access a range of resources below which will help you create your rap with children in class or at home, including an online toolkit and top tip videos from Welsh beat-boxer, rapper and producer Mr Phormula.

Download free beats you can use (on Soundcloud)

Record the video in landscape and send your entry to cymraeg@gov.wales and/or share it on the school’s social media channels using #YsgolHipHop and tagging @miwsig. Entries must be submitted by Friday 29 January at 4.30pm. Full terms and conditions can be found below.
