The accounts show the results of the Welsh Government, the local health boards, NHS Trusts and various subsidiary companies.
The revised timetable for the 2019-20 accounts agreed with the Auditor General for Wales to reflect the impact of COVID-19 is:
- Welsh Government consolidated accounts submitted to Audit Wales: 24th August 2020
- Welsh Government consolidated accounts signed: 26th October 2020 to 30th October 2020
- Welsh Government consolidated accounts laid with the Senedd: 30th October 2020
Staff from Audit Wales and the Welsh Government have been working closely to assess the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on the preparation and audit of the 2019 to 2020 accounts. As a result, a revised timetable is now in place, with draft account expected on 24th August 2020, and audit certification expected in late October 2020. There are however a number of risks that could impact on the revised plan including the availability of staff and the extent to which remote working and auditing are possible for each of the organisations involved in the preparation and audit of the consolidated accounts (including subsidiaries and NHS bodies).
