Steve Morris – Chair
Steve has 30 years of experience in the Welsh for Adults sector and as former chief examiner for the Proficiency Level, a member of the Intermediate and Advanced examinations working group, and an examiner and marker for Welsh for Adults exams. He was a member of the Welsh Language Board’s Welsh for Adults Strategy Committee and vice-chair of the National Eisteddfod Learners Committee in Swansea 2006. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Welsh, Swansea University and he is Treasurer of the British Association for Applied Linguistics (BAAL). He is a co-researcher and a member of the management team for a significant research project CorCenCC: Contemporary Welsh National Corpus.
Anna Skalistira-Bakratseva
Anna came to live in Wales from Bulgaria 5 years ago and has learnt Welsh in the last 3 years. She has a Masters degree in medicine and has studied Pharmacology at Ph.D level. She works as a personal assistant to a dentist.
Dr Helen Barlow
A Welsh learner with extensive experience in education as a Senior Arts Faculty Manager, associate lecturer, author of learning materials and conference papers, bid writer, chair of numerous validations and revalidations and Academic Reviewer for the Open University.
Richard Houdmont
Richard Houdmont learnt Welsh when he moved to Wales in 1977 to work for the University of Wales Press, where he was promoted to be Deputy Director. More recently, he worked for the Chartered Institute of Marketing as a Network Manager for Wales, Ireland and the Isle of Man. He resigned in 2015 having managed to grow the number of members, generate income and a successful events programme. He remains the Chair of Poetry Wales press, which publishes under the Seren imprint. He also publishes Welsh books for children under the Houdmont imprint. He is a trustee of the National Library of Wales and is also on the Advisory Board of NetNeutrals EU.
Professor Huw Williams
Professor Huw Williams is Emeritus Professor of Transport and Spatial Analysis, Cardiff University. He has been Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Reader, Professor and Honorary Professor in the School of City and Regional Planning prior to his present position. He has published widely in his subject area. He was a long serving member of the School's Management Team and the Chair of its Learning and Teaching Committee. He is a Welsh learner at Mynediad level.
