Integrated Sustainability Appraisal

The NDF will influence how communities develop over the next 20 years and it is important that we have a comprehensive understanding of the positive and adverse effects this can have as we develop the NDF.

To do this, we have developed an Integrated Sustainability Appraisal (ISA) which is a process for assessing the social, economic and environmental impacts of a plan and aims to ensure that sustainable development is at the heart of the plan-making process.

A Habitat Regulations Assessment (HRA) is also being undertaken for the NDF. This starts to assess the potential for the NDF to have an effect on certain nature conservation sites of international importance.

Integrated Sustainability Appraisal

The scoping report is the first step of the Integrated Sustainability Appraisal (ISA) for the NDF.

An Interim ISA has been undertaken for the Issues, Options and Preferred Option stage and can be found here.

Habitats Regulations Assessment

A preliminary HRA has been undertaken for the Issues, Options and Preferred Option stage and can be found here.
