A work based training programme, which will fund professionals within the early years, childcare and play sector to gain nationally recognised qualifications at Levels 2 and 3.

If you are currently working in, or employ professionals working in the early years, childcare or play sector, this could be a great opportunity for professionals to undertake training, or for employers to facilitate their employees to undertake training, which will make a real difference to the children for whom you care.To obtain funding you/your employees must meet the following criteria:

To obtain funding you/your employees must meet the following criteria:

  • aged 25 or above at the time of your application
  • currently employed in an early years, childcare, or play setting that is registered with Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), or are a registered childminder, in Wales
  • currently employed, or self-employed, for 16 hours or more per week
  • have been employed by your current employer for at least 4 weeks at the time of application  

(Please note: other criteria may apply)

How to apply

The Progress for Success Programme launched on 1st August 2016.

Employers/participants who would like to take part in the programme are required to apply directly to the training provider/s in their area.

The providers who will be delivering the programme, within specific local authorities are listed in the 'Regions by Provider' document.
