Frequently asked questions for parents.

When will I be able to access the offer?

If you live in a pilot area and are eligible you may be able to access the offer from September 2017. You’ll need to contact your local authority for details.

If you don’t live in a pilot area, further areas will be added to the scheme over future years. The offer will be available to all eligible parents by the end of this Assembly Term.

Once it’s available when will my child be able to access the offer?

Once rolled out, eligible children will be able to access the offer from the term after their 3rd birthday up until they are offered a full time education place, usually the September after their 4th birthday.

For more information on other forms of support you may be entitled to visit our Help Paying for Childcare page.

What eligibility criteria will I need to meet?

The new childcare offer will be available to working parents. The exact eligibility criteria is something we’ll be testing through our pilots and further information will be available closer to the time the offer is rolled-out.
