100 years, 100 women - A celebration of 100 Welsh women

On 8th May 2018, Women’s Equality Network (WEN) Wales launched their project sponsored by Welsh Government, to celebrate the lives of great Welsh women.

50 women from the past who made a big impact on Welsh life and 50 inspiring women who are currently shaping Wales will be recognised in a celebration of their contribution to our national life. #100WelshWomen

As part of this project, we will be commissioning a statue of a Welsh woman. We will also be working in partnership with Chwarae Teg and WEN Wales, to fund purple plaques for many of the 100 women being recognised as part of this project.
