Funding to help town centre businesses work together to boost their local economy is now open for applications.

We have provided funding of £243k to support the development of 8 additional Business Improvement Districts in Wales.

The following areas were successful in receiving funding to commission consultants to carry out Business Improvement District (BID) Feasibility Studies and where feasible, support the local partnerships to take the BID forward to ballot:

  • Bridgend
  • Caernarfon
  • Bangor
  • Llanelli
  • Pontypridd
  • Neath
  • Aberystwyth
  • Abergavenny
  • Pant & Merthyr Tydfil Industrial Estates
  • Colwyn Bay.

Those areas that were successful at ballot also received additional post ballot support to assist with the BID set up and implementation. 

There are currently twelve BIDs in Wales covering areas in Swansea, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport, Bangor, Caernarfon, Colwyn Bay, Neath, Bridgend, Pontypridd, Aberystwyth, Cardiff and Llanelli.
