Clinical audit assesses patient outcomes across a wide range of medical, surgical and mental health conditions.

Its purpose is to:

  • help healthcare professionals to check their clinical practice against set standards whilst supporting and improving the quality of treatment and care
  • provide information for patients and the public on the quality of specific healthcare services at a local and national level.
Clinical audit is one of our main priorities to improve patient care in Wales. Results of these audits provide us with an insight into the quality of care provided and how improvements are being implemented.
