Learning from Trusted to Care – One year on

This report is a summary of the work undertaken by the Trusted to Care steering group. It confirms how the recommendations have been met. It provides details of the work and actions taken in relation to the unannounced spot check programme findings’.

Trusted to Care - 2015 Review

This provides the findings of the independent follow up review of Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board against the 14 recommendations outlined in the original report.

Spot check visits

Following the publication of Trusted to Care Mark Drakeford AM, Minister for Health and Social Services ordered a series of unannounced ‘spot check’ visits to district general hospitals.

The ‘spot check’ visits took place from the 15 June – 30 July 2014. Focusing on medical and care of the elderly wards, visits were undertaken at 70 adult in-patient ward areas across 20 hospital sites.

Reports are now available providing details on their findings from each hospital visited. An All Wales report has also been compiled bringing together results and good practice from all the hospital sites.  

Trusted to Care Steering group

A steering group was established to oversee the implementation of all recommendations in the Trusted to Care report. The Steering Group met monthly between July 2014 and June 2015.
