Health at work

Working to develop and support healthy workplaces.

Healthy Working Wales works with employers, health professionals and individuals to:

  • improve health and well-being at work
  • reduce the impact of ill health at work, and
  • encourage early intervention to rehabilitate those who have become ill or injured.
Employers are able to access support and advice to develop health, well-being and safety initiatives in the workplace through the ‘Corporate Health Standard’ and ‘Small Workplace Health Award’.

The Corporate Health Standard

The Corporate Health Standard is the quality mark for workplace health promotion in Wales. It is presented to public, private and third sector organisations implementing practices to promote the health and well-being of their employees.

It is awarded in bronze, silver, gold and platinum categories.

The Small Workplace Health Award

The Small Workplace Health Award is the new national mark of quality for health and well-being in the workplace, for businesses and organisations employing fewer than 50 people.

It has three levels of award (bronze, silver and gold) to recognise each development stage achieved.

Free support and advice is available, please visit the Public Health Wales website (external link).

In-Work Support service

In-Work Support is funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government. It is currently being delivered in partnership with Rhyl City Strategy and Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Board.
