The Wales Marine Advisory and Action Group (WMAAG) provides a forum for discussion and debate, providing support and advice in relation to the Marine Transition Programme.

The Group is currently chaired independently. It brings together a broad range of strategic interest groups to ensure effective and meaningful engagement in relation to the delivery of the Marine Transition Programme and wider marine and fisheries work, through collaborative working and co-production.

Particularly, in relation to the effective delivery of the Marine Transition Programme projects:

  • Marine Planning (including Marine evidence activities)
  • The Marine Strategy Framework Directive
  • Better Fisheries (including Sustainable Fisheries and the New Common Fisheries Policy)
  • Marine Protected Areas (including Harbour Porpoise and the Special Protected areas).

The next meeting will be taking place in March 2018.
