Sea fishing

Wales offers sea fishing and freshwater angling opportunities, both for the visiting angler and the tourist with an interest.

Our diverse range of recreational angling opportunities include:

  • over 240 salmon and trout rivers
  • an increasing interest in river coarse fishing
  • several hundred natural lake fisheries
  • more than 20 large reservoirs
  • an increasing number of small stocked still water fisheries.

For information about angling clubs, competitions, places to fish and stay, details of tuition, techniques, and more, visit Fishing Wales (external link) or Angling Cymru (external link).  Angling Cymru is the umbrella body for the three national governing bodies for game, sea and coarse angling disciplines in Wales.
