In January 2015, Welsh Ministers published a response to the independent review by Professor Wynne Jones OBE. Welsh Government has today published an update.

Professor Wynne Jones identified 15 recommendations in his review which were intended to contribute to the vision of a modern and professional agricultural industry in Wales, embedding a culture of continuous professional development and improved business focus. Of the 15 recommendations, 14 have been completed with one ongoing.

The recommendations correspond with wider Welsh Government policy aspirations and the objectives of the Agricultural Sector (Wales) Act 2014 which provides the statutory basis for recognising qualifications and experience in agriculture through a six grade pay structure.
