The 5th window for Expressions of Interest (EOI) in Glastir Woodland Restoration opened on 05 June 2017 and closed at midnight on 30 June 2017.

Funding is available to replant areas of larch that have been felled to help prevent the spread of Phytophthora ramorum disease affecting the trees.

The area eligible for funding under Glastir Woodland Restoration will be equivalent to twice the area of larch identified on the Statutory Plant Health Notice or felling licence. For example, if 1 hectare of larch is shown on your felling licence, the maximum area eligible for funding under Glastir Restoration will be 2 hectares.

A Forest Management Plan (FMP) fee of £1500 will also be available if the area to be restocked is identified as Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites (PAWS). Payment of the fee will be subject to acceptance of a contract, following successful verification of the FMP by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).

PAWS can be viewed as a category within the Ancient Woodland Inventory (AWI) 2011, which is viewable, or downloadable on the Lle geo-portal (external link).
