Cattle are required to be identified and registered with British Cattle Movement Service (BCMS) within 27 days of birth. Movements are required to be reported within 3 days.

BCMS maintain the Great Britain Cattle Tracing System (CTS) (external link) on behalf of Welsh Government, Scottish Government and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
