Early identification of young people at risk of disengagement is the foundation of the Youth Engagement and Progression Framework.

The Early identification system will allow local authorities to; produce a list of all those young people at risk of disengaging, consider the provision and support available against the need of their cohort, establish a tracking system and ultimately target support and provision to the needs of the young person.

The Early identification - effective practice guidance below provides further information to partners, particularly local authorities, as they develop an early identification system as part of the Youth Engagement and Progression Framework.
