Education Digital Guidance

As school leaders, your ability to manage your digital technology environment will have a bearing on how effective you will be in delivering the curriculum.

This document provides advice to help you understand how to make the best use of your digital investment including broadband, the local area network infrastructure and computing devices to facilitate digital learning.

This document has been developed in consultation with the sector to capture common concerns raised by schools. However, schools should always consider whether they would benefit from further advice and assistance before making any decisions related to technology hardware and infrastructure procurement.

This guidance document is online only and a separate PDF download is not available. This decision has been made to allow us to ensure that the information on this page is always up to date, and as relevant as possible to align with changes in technology and processes. It also reduces the risk of users retaining out of date information when referring to this guidance. Furthermore, as PDF documents can require additional (although small amounts of) bandwidth and software to download and view, having the information presented on a webpage minimises your connectivity and processing requirements.
