Resources and case studies

Below are resources and case studies your organisation may find useful.

Adding value through culture within the Pupil Offer

Schools Challenge Cymru provides funding, expertise and support to 40 schools and their cluster primaries under the ‘Pathways to success’ programme. Each school will identify ways to improve confidence and motivation through a Pupil Offer. Working together, cultural bodies have produced a guide to support schools to use the arts, culture and heritage as part of the Offer. Further information can be found on the Schools Challenge Cymru page.

‘Taking over day’ and Communities First clusters

Kids in Museums (external link) is an independent charity. The charity is dedicated to making museums open and welcoming to all and in particular to those who haven’t had an opportunity to visit a museum before.

It has developed a successful campaign 'Taking Over Day in Wales' (external link) where museums, cultural venues, arts organisations and heritage sites give young people a meaningful, powerful and decision-making role, putting them at the heart of their organisation.

We are supporting Kids in Museums to work in Communities First areas and we are seeing real results this year with many hundreds of young people taking part. Kids in Museums has produced a resource showing how activities like these can directly support Communities First outcomes.
