Each year the National Survey for Wales involves over 11,000 people. The survey runs all year round, across the whole of Wales.
The survey is a research study amongst overseas and UK visitors to Wales.

There are more museums than any other type of attraction in Wales and they can be found in all corners of the country.

Visiting a museum is a popular activity for tourists during a trip to Wales. In 2016, 50% of visitors visited a Welsh museum once or more in the last 12 months. 66% of visitors to museums in Wales agreed that they ‘enjoy the experience of visiting museums’.

The Wales museum visitor survey explores how tourists use and respond to museums. The National Survey of Wales (external link) asked who used museums in Wales and reasons for not using museums.
