Ruth Treharne

Cwm Taf Health Board

Ruth has worked in the NHS for over 33 years, in both England and Wales and in a variety of roles.  She commenced as a graduate management trainee and gained experience working in healthcare organisations in areas such as health service management, information management and technology, commissioning and planning over this period.  Ruth has also worked in the Wales Office and Welsh Government in a range of policy roles, including as Bill Manager, supporting the development and implementation of primary healthcare legislation. 

As a former Honorary Lecturer at the University of Swansea, Ruth has presented papers at EHMA, Berlin and St Petersburg University and has written several, published health publications.  She is a former School Governor and Chair of two Welsh Language Schools and is also a keen runner, having completed several half and full marathons.

With a family history in the Cynon and Gwent Valleys, and an avid user of our beautiful regional valleys parks, Ruth is delighted to have joined the Valleys Taskforce.
