More information about the WIMD indicators

The indicator data that sits behind the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) is a varied and widely used information source.

On this page you can find spreadsheets that outline how we match up the different geography groupings that we use.

You can also find out how postcodes match to Lower-layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs).

These geography look up spreadsheets allow you to assign any data you may have to the same geography groups as the WIMD indicator data.

All of the indicator data can be viewed and/or downloaded from the StatsWales website.

For assistance when carrying out your own research please use our guide (PDF, 788KB) and our document outlining the technical information about all the indicators (XLSX, 73KB).
