Overnight domestic GB trips

There were 5.1 million overnight domestic GB trips to Wales in the first six months of 2018, generating expenditure of £907 million.

Domestic GB tourism day visits

During the first six months of 2018 there were 46.7 million Tourism Day visits in Wales. These visits generated expenditure of £1.92 billion.

International visits

There were 430,000 trips taken in Wales by international visitors during the first 6 months of 2018 with an expenditure of £167 million.

Wales accommodation occupancy rates

Hotels: 64 per cent
Guesthouse/B&B: 31 per cent
Self-catering: 50 per cent
Hostel: 48 per cent

Wales Tourism Barometer

The most recent wave (September 2018) indicated that 84 per cent of businesses had seen greater or equal levels of visitors compared with the same period in 2017 (40 per cent greater, 44 per cent equal). 79 per cent of businesses expressed confidence for the season ahead.
