This is advice is non-statutory. It is intended to:

  • help local authorities with cross-border child protection cases under the 1996 Hague Convention
  • help health boards and trusts who may be required to provide information in relation to these cases

It sets out how local authorities can ask for help or information from authorities abroad.

It explains how local authorities, health boards and NHS Trusts should respond to requests from authorities from abroad.
