A qualitative research report outlining the findings of focus groups and a small number of in-depth interviews held to support the consultation on the organ donation opt-out proposal.
This is the latest release
The aim of this qualitative research study was to explore attitudes towards organ donation in general, and the Welsh Government’s organ donation opt-out proposal. Six discussion groups and seven in-depth interviews were held with a range of people across six locations in Wales.
The report highlights a range of opinions about organ donation in general as well as the opt-out proposal. Towards the end of the discussions, participants were asked to argue for and against the proposed legislation change. They generally found it easier to put the case for, by focussing on more lives being saved.
