The project will provide qualitative evidence of the views of service users, their carers and practitioners of the implementation of all four parts of the Measure.
This is the latest release in the series: Research to support the Duty to Review the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010
Five reports present the findings from the qualitative research undertaken. The summary report presents the key findings for all parts of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure with separate reports providing the detailed findings and feedback for each part of the Measure.
The methodology encompassed focus groups and individual face to face and telephone interviews with service users and carers across all parts of the Measure.
The numbers involved throughout Wales were as follows:
- Part 1: 38 service users; 2 carers
- Part 2: 60 service users; 39 carers
- Part 3: 29 service users; 2 carers
- Part 4: 14 service users; 2 carers.
Focus groups and interviews were also conducted with 70 mental health practitioners from the statutory sector; 40 practitioners from the third sector and 36 staff from nine GP practices across Wales.
