Amy Grimward: Ysgol Aberconwy, Conwy

Amy demonstrates a clear understanding of how an anti-racist approach is key to a purpose-led curriculum.

Her collaborative and dynamic Curriculum for Wales planning for the Year 8 topic ‘Our Diverse World’ involved looking at immigration and Black British history across all subject areas.

Pupils trust her when confiding incidents, because they know that she will listen to the context and individual circumstances and act accordingly.

She has a long-term vision for anti-racism at Ysgol Aberconwy and has worked with colleagues to develop a decolonised approach to the curriculum.
