This could potentially allow greater flexibility for buyers and suppliers in Wales.

Today, the UK government has published a green paper and public consultation on their proposals for procurement reform.

The Welsh Government is considering whether Wales adopts the UK government’s proposals outlined in the green paper or pursues alternative options.

Your views are important, hence we will engage with Welsh stakeholders in January and February 2021 on this topic.

We will also shortly publish a WPPN which will provide further information on procurement reform as well as the Common Framework for public procurement.

In the meantime, existing procurement regulations continue to apply. Please send any queries you may have to Procurement.EUTransition@gov.wales.
