Jane Hutt, Minister for Finance and Leader of the House
I welcome the publication today of the full UK Government response to the first report by the Commission on Devolution in Wales (the 'Silk Commission').
This more detailed document follows the high-level announcement by the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister on 01 November. In addition to providing further information about the devolution of borrowing powers, Stamp Duty Land Tax, Landfill Tax and the possibility of a referendum on partial devolution of income tax, the publication addresses each of the 33 recommendations made by the Silk Commission.
A link to the UK Government's document 'Empowerment and responsibility: devolving financial powers to Wales' is below.
I will be making an Oral Statement to the Assembly on the UK Government’s response next week.
