Jane Hutt, Minister for Finance and Government Business
Today the Public Policy Institute for Wales (PPIW) has published a report on how the good practice developed by public sector bodies can be passed on to other organisations. The report concentrates in particular on how the lessons learned from projects resourced by the Invest to Save Fund can be passed on to others. The report can be found by following the link below:

The report was prepared on behalf of the PPIW by Dr James Downe of Cardiff Business School and provides an insight into why barriers exist to the spread of good practice and how these barriers can be overcome. 'The latest Invest to Save bidding round commenced on the 7 October and closes in early January. This PPIW report in intended to help inform development of schemes for Invest to Save support and decisions on which schemes will receive funding. My officials have already met with representatives from the Welsh NHS, local government and the Further Education sector, creating awareness of the scheme and encouraging the spread of learning.
This morning I hosted an event attended by senior officials from across all areas of the public sector which drew attention to the research undertaken by Dr Downe and the report which the PPIW have produced. There is a momentum building across public services in Wales towards learning from each other to routinely share best practice and ensure all of the citizens of Wales benefit from the improvements in service delivery which such sharing facilitates.
I will be updating Members in spring 2015 with the details of the projects which will receive funding in 2015-16.
