I would like to update Members on the process of preparing Regulations to make Welsh Language Standards specifically applicable for the organisations in the Welsh Language Commissioner’s second standards investigation.
On 17 November 2014 the Commissioner commenced her second Standards investigation into a further 119 organisations (Annex A). The investigation came to an end on 6 February 2015 and the Commissioner submitted 9 Standards reports to the Welsh Ministers at the end of May 2015. In accordance with the Welsh Language Measure (Wales) 2011, I am currently in the process of giving due regard to the Commissioner’s conclusions. I will issue a full response to her investigation in the autumn 2015, along with a revised timetable.
The intention however, is to commence the laying of the next round of Regulations by the end of 2015.
