The Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Trefnydd and Chief Whip and the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care have recently agreed to the commencement of a recruitment campaign to appoint a new Non-Executive Board Member to the Board of the Citizen Voice Body for Health and Social Care Wales, known as Llais Cymru
The Board of Llais has accountability for ensuring Llais exercises its legislative functions appropriately and effectively. It is also responsible to Welsh Ministers for the ways in which Llais delivers against the Ministerial remit letter.
The vacancy has been advertised from 24 March 2025, with a closing date of 21 April 2025.
It is hoped that an appointment will be made in the Autumn 2025 and will be for a term of 4 years.
Llais Board members are remunerated at £198 per day. Members are expected to commit to 4 days per month, which includes attendance at Board meetings, committee meetings and other activities as agreed with the Chair of Llais. Additional remunerated days may be allocated to Members who Chair Board sub-committees.
This appointment will be made in accordance with the Governance Code on Public Appointments. All appointments to the Board of Llais are made on merit following an open, competitive process. Political activity plays no part in the selection process.
