The recent storms have not just damaged the buildings and pitches of our sports clubs, they have damaged what is for many, the fabric of their communities – places essential for our health and wellbeing, and a hub where people meet and socialise with friends and family.

We have provided additional funding to allow Sport Wales to help clubs with the repair and replacement costs from the damage caused by the recent storms. Not-for-profit community clubs and organisations that have been affected by recent storm damage can apply for grants up to £5,000 to help them recover.

The Storm Damage Fund opened yesterday, until 4pm on Tuesday 17 December, and will provide grants ranging from £300 up to a maximum £5,000. I would encourage eligible applicants to apply as a matter of urgency. Further details can be found on the Sport Wales website
