Alison Harvey

Alison is an Agri Supply Chain Advisor with Rural Advisor.

From a family farm in Llanddewi-Brefi, Alison continues to support Welsh agriculture, and Welsh Food and Drink.  

Consulting on a variety of topics in her role at Rural Advisor, Alison has a strong interest in business planning. The aim aim is to create resilience for family farm businesses.  She also takes pride in the facilitation work she is doing with the RWAS Rural Leadership group and the Royal Countryside Fund Farm Resilience Programme.

Before taking on her current role, Alison spent 15 years working in the Welsh red meat industry.  At Dunbia, her responsibilities included production planning and agricultural account management. This involved dealing with various retailers.

Alison was educated at Lampeter Comprehensive School. She then graduated from Harper Adams University with a BSc Hons in Agri-Food Marking and Business Studies. This was followed by a PgD in International Agri-Business Management.  Keen to continue her professional development she is a member of BIAC and has completed their foundation courses to date.

Alison is also a partner with her parents in the family sheep farm. She enjoys working with the flock as and when required, with lambing being her favourite time of the year.

Welsh food and drink are part of her role, but it is also a passion and she relaxes by cooking at home. She enjoys finding (and sampling) new products and businesses and promoting the industry to others via her social media and blog.
