If you are the master of a vessel fishing recreationally for bluefin tuna, you must complete a catch and release return.
You must submit your return within 24 hours of the end of the fishing trip.
When submitting your return you will be asked to confirm
- the date of the fishing trip
- how many bluefin tuna were caught
- fish size (in inches)
- location of fishing activity (using ICES Sub Rectangles)
- whether the bluefin tuna were released dead or alive
- information about any bycatch
We collect this information for reporting purposes in relation to Article 19G of Regulation (EU) 2016/1627 of the European Parliament and of the Council as amended.
